Gibson Island Historical Society
The Gibson Island Historical Society's mission is to enhance understanding of the history of Gibson Island through the collection, documentation, preservation, and display of items of historical significance.
Established in 1968, the Society's primary focus is to present the history of the Island community, including the Club, the Yacht Squadron, the Corporation, and the Island itself. Our collection features artifacts from all Island events and periods, from the pre-historic to the modern day. In addition, the Society sponsors open houses, historical programs for its members and friends, and archaeological research into the Island's historical mysteries.
The Society's home is the Salty Marks House, a beautiful cottage overlooking the Gibson Island Harbor. We invite you to reach out to us and visit us at the Museum. [email protected]
